The phrase ”one baptism” refers to the baptism of the Spirit that occurs when a person first believes and is ingrafted into Christ. This baptism is invisible and related to water baptism, but not the same. Water baptism was commanded by Jesus for all of his followers, and symbolizes the washing away of sin by the blood of Jesus.

I want to be clear about my comment on Baptism. We are baptized out of faith in obedience to Our Father. Baptism is not by works. Christ Jesus has already taken our sin to the cross and served the sentence for our sin. Baptism is an outward expression of obedience in faith to The Word. Ephesians 4:5 There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism.
